  • The climate outlook for temperature shows the 0-180 hour and 192-384 hour means plus the departure of the first 180-hour mean from the CRU 100-yr climatology.
  • The climate outlook for precipitation shows the 0-180 hour and 192-384 hour accumulations plus the departure of the first 180-hour accumulation from the CMAP 25-yr climatology.
  • The climate outlook for soil moisture shows the current analysis and the forecasted change over the next 180 hours.
  • As of 2 February 2008, the climate outlooks for the first 180 hours are based on 0.5-degree gridded fields. The outlooks for hour 192-384 are still based on 2.5-degree gridded fields. Note that the averaging periods are different than they were before the change to 0.5-degree gridded data. The image sizes have been increased to mark the changes in grid resolution and averaging periods.
